CXMT IPO Shakes AI Trade | US Stock Express

The Cards Are Being Reshuffled

For months the AI trade told one story: chips, GPUs, and NVDA at the center. This week, a Chinese IPO called CXMT ended it.

The new focus is memory. ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) IPO’d this week and rose 465%, becoming Asia’s biggest listing of 2026. It now ranks fourth in global DRAM production, just behind Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, and its arrival is forcing all three into a fight for share. Micron broke its neckline into a Complexed Head and Shoulders. SK Hynix and Samsung broke down the same way. Korea’s KOSPI took the hardest hit: a 10.2% single day drop triggered a circuit breaker, leaving the index roughly a third below its June peak.

This collides with the busiest earnings window of the year. META and MSFT report today, AAPL and AMZN tomorrow, four of the Magnificent Seven in 48 hours, alongside Wednesday’s Fed rate decision. That stretch will confirm or break the rotation story.

Here is the tension underneath it. AAPL quietly retook the No. 1 market cap spot from NVDA and sits at a record high, but the strength is narrow. NASDAQ 100 broke below its descending triangle, and the PHLX Semiconductor Index is down more than 20%, officially in a bear market. One stock rising while its own index breaks down is not strength, it is dispersion, and dispersion this wide rarely resolves quietly.

The focus of the market today: the AI trade is rotating from chips to memory, and this week’s earnings will decide if it sticks.
