Both the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77) and the USS Tripoli (LHA-7) amphibious assault ship had already passed the Combat Test and heading to Middle East from the East and West. A Combat Test is used to test all the naval and aero crews are in the best combat condition, including the hardware and software. All engines in the air and on the sea had passed the strictest test to carry out combats no matter in whatsoever conditions. They have bid farewell to their family for 3 months and after that period, another combat team will replace them so as to keep everything up to the best conditions. They know that their deployment will not be too long no matter the war ends or not.
But for general investors, what they care most is the period beyond these 3 months. The investment in the market would last much longer than these 3 months, no matter in the field of stocks, currency, crypto, future and gold……etc. Therefore, who is the winner? Who is the loser in the Operation Epic Fury? This is not just a talk for afternoon tea. Is it a market talk? Is it an investment talk? It is a talk linking up with every small potato and big shot of the market.
Is Iran the loser? Superficially over 90% of their firepower had been destroyed, their leaders were and keymen were killed one by one and day by day. They had no crisis awareness and knew not how to avoid being killed and still expose themselves to missiles. Or they believe their best weapon is the Hormuz Strait block. They can hold the oil passing this Strait in front of the strongest naval and aero force so they have a sense of victory ad forget their safety. But the greatest problem is how long can they last? The Iranian president believes he will not be killed for he is a dovish person and will be kept for negotiation.
Even Donald Trump is in a favourable condition in the battlefield, but in the price of petroleum, he has already been defeated. When the price of WTI is above $100, that means he could not control inflation. He was unable to bring it down to the level of $67.02 on Feb 27, the closing price before the war. What he only evaluates is the side of firepower and unable to evaluate the effect of blocking up the Hormuz Strait. Anyway, the watershed is the $100 psychological barrier. When under this Trump wins, when over Trump is defeated no matter what is happening in the battlefield. The effect on his prestige and the midterm election decides who is the winner or loser. On the battlefield, if everything can be done in a period of 3 weeks, Trump is the winner. Don’t forget the Iraqi war of 1990 and Gulf War of 2003, major fightings were all finished within 3 weeks.
Who is the real winner? Is it Israel? In 2025 they have a 12-day war with Iran, and finished by the US with their one-night action of Operation Midnight Hammer. This time the war is really started by Israel. They carried on their decapitation operation day by day, night by night and all keymen were down on sight. It shows that their precise hunting is so horrible and accurate. They are even so modest to disclose how they do this and make people unbelievable. They said they track and trace the keymen by hacking video-cams on the street. They traced the security guard and when knew all the guards gathered in the same place, they knew that it was an important meeting so they just bombed them. Is this so simple? They disclosed means that the next time to do this will be quite hard. Do they have other meanings such as diverting the eyes away from an internal spy? Heaven Knows! Anyway, they are the winners in intelligence and decapitation.
What should a retail investor or small potato investor do? We are unable to stop their action or help either side to do this and that. We can only make more money and wait for the advent of another golden pit. We are unable to change the situation, but if we can make more money during this period, it is marvellous.
