Outlook for 2025

Year 2024 is going to an end, but not the Russian/Ukraine Conflict. We are very likely to be the only bulletin in the financial market to have daily count down of the war since Feb 2022. Regretfully today is the 1041st day. Donald Trump said in the election that he would end the war in 24 hours, but now he changed his saying, that is ending the war is one of his most important jobs after inauguration ceremony without mentioning the limitation of time. Thus, no need to talk about war in Gaza and Middle East. Just hope that they can be ended soon.

Normally the presidency of US only has 4 years a term but now there is an exception, the Donald Trump 2.0 era has a term of 4 years and 10 weeks. For just after the election, he has been already carrying out the function of a president and US has 2 presidents existing for these months. One is Joe Biden the incumbent president and another is Donald Trump the president-elect. Initially, people thought he was a strong man against China especially he said he would levy 60% tariff on China, but now he actually is carrying out his target of MAGA (Make America Great Again), he would levy tariff on every country including allies like EU and 5 eyes and G7. Initially he will levy 25% on Mexico and Canada, but China only 10%. Come on, watch how he make a song!

Rate Cut of Federal Reserve will also be focus of the market. Because of the worrying of inflation caused by tariff of Donald Trump, the original expectation of rate cut was 4 times in 2025 and each time 25 base points, but now shrank to just 2 times of 25 base points each. So what should investors do? If you watch the Dot Plot Chart of Federal Reserve, everyone knows that the accuracy is very low that can laugh your tooth out. So better watch the Chicago Target Rate, for they are changing every day, every hour, every minute and every second and we will have special topics on it later.
